2017 weekly programme

The website has been updated so you can check out the new weekly timetable. Go to http://www.boltontri.com/weeklyprogramme.html There are now sessions everyday of the week so you can reach your triathlon potential

Senior and junior ages
Senior sessions are for ages 14 and above and Junior sessions are for ages 7 to 16. Athletes 14 to 16 years old can attend either senior sessions or junior sessions or both, its their choice. However if agreed by the Head Coach, juniors T2 ages and above can also attend the Wed track session if they are keen runners and juniors T3 ages and above can attend the senior swims if they are keen swimmers

Session fees and the standing order scheme
The committee have decided that the standing order scheme will now cover all the swim sessions, the Monday session at Leverhulme and the Wed track session at Bolton Arena, Horwich.

The only sessions it will not cover are the seasonal ones i.e. cycling on Friday, open water swimming at Elton Reservoir and Winter brick/turbo sessions. Winter turbo and Friday cycling sessions are £3 for pay as you go members or £2 for members with standing orders. The standing order scheme is great value, £18 a month for up to 6 sessions a week now. If you want to subscribe to it go to http://www.boltontri.com/pdfs/btc_Standing_order_%20form_rates_2015.pdf for full details and the bank details. We haven't yet updated the form so ignore the last bit which says what the standing order covers.

For pay as you go members all swims will be £4 for seniors and £3 juniors. The Monday Leverhulme Park session and the Wed Bolton Arena session will both be £3 for adults and for juniors

Swim sessions
Although the early morning swim is still a BMSS swim there will be no need to join the Amateur Swimming Association.

Any member can go to any swim except those learning front crawl should only go to the Sat swim at Farnworth and the Friday swim at Turton until they are able to swim 200m front crawl comfortably.

Wed track session
The Wednesday track session is for all abilities of runner.

Training for Seniors on Monday at Leverhulme
There will still be plenty of training or adults at Leverhulme Park on Mondays. Andy Bassett and Mark Loates (joined by Liz McLellan later in the year) will lead runs out on the road or trail for all abilities, the two 45 minute spin sessions will continue and Chris Bibby will lead circuit/strength and conditioning sessions. Anyone who would like to help with these activities please let me know or speak to any of these coaches.

Training for Juniors on Mondays
Splitting and the juniors into two training groups by age and staggering their session times will enable us to provide each group with 30 minutes of quality cycling having the whole track to themselves. We couldn't do this when we had only half an hour of track time for 50 to 60 juniors. It will also enable us to open up again to new members ages 7 to 13. New junior members will attend a cycling induction from 7 to 7.30 on their first and second week. This is to ensure their bike is safe, they learn some basic skills and and they gain some safety awareness before they start riding on the track.

Primary school ages 7 years of age up to Year 6. 7 to 8.15pm
7 to 7.30 cycling, 7.30 to 8.15 running and games/cool down
Anyone in this group wanting to use a club bike will need to get it from the container between 6.45 and 7 ready to start cycling at 7.

High school ages Years 7 to 11.  7.30 to 8.45pm
7.30 to 8.10 warm up and running
8.10 to 8.45 cycling
